Preparing For Acupuncture With Some Solid Advice

Has a doctor or a friend recommended acupuncture to you for treatment? Would you like to find out more about it? Perhaps you have heard about it and would just like more information about its many benefits. Keep reading to find out just how acupuncture can help change your life.

It is important to relax before going to an acupuncture treatment. If you are tense, the needles will not be able to get past your clenched muscles. Breathing deeply just before the treatment or listening to some relaxing music should help. If you are having problems with tensed muscles, let your acupuncturist know about this problem.

Do not just go to one appointment and then stop. Generally, you will experience the best results if you go to several treatments. If you are not dedicated to the process, you are not going to benefit as much from it. Talk to your doctor about what you can realistically expect after the first appointment and then going forward.

When scheduling, be selective about the time of your treatment. Don’t schedule an appointment too near a time that you will need to do anything strenuous. You should never schedule a session in the middle to two other activities, as your stress level is likely to be elevated. You will have a hard time relaxing under these circumstances.

Make sure you don’t see your acupuncturist on an empty stomach. You’ll want to eat a full meal about 2 hours before your session. If you go to a session hungry, you may wind up feeling dizzy or lightheaded. You want your sessions to make you feel better, not worse.

Now that you know more about acupuncture, you can now go schedule your first appointment! It’s time to put the many benefits of this wonderful procedure to good use for yourself. Remember the advice that has been given to you so that you have the best possible situation when you schedule your appointment.
Holistic approach to healing with acupuncture, reflexology
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — 2020 is a new year, a new decade and a time when people make resolutions to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
That includes a holistic approach to healing.
Devin Moreno – a licensed acupuncturist at Paradigm Wellness — said there is no better time than the new year to adopt a new approach to wellness. He calls it a wellness revolution
He said he has personally seen instances where acupuncture and natural remedies are successful at healing people.
“I treat patients for a variety of issues,” he said. “Whether it’s fertility, dermatology, diabetes — there’s all types of issues that we treat here at our clinic. So I can only imagine different modalities and what they treat as well.”
Moreno said the reason why practices like cupping or acupuncture are healing, is because the nervous system is stimulated causing blood and energy flow in the body to increase. The body is divided into 12 energy zones called meridians.
“Whenever there is a blockage you might have pain or disease,” Moreno said. “And so when we put the needles in, they basically distribute that and balance out the body.”
He said it’s not just a spa day. It’s a medical treatment and several places take insurance.
“I think the World Health Organization has listed acupuncture as a registered, certified treatment modality,” he said.
Instead of disinfectant sprays and wipes, Moreno said burning sage — called “smudging” — can be just as effective.
“The New England Medical Journal actually just came out with a report that when you burn sage, it actually kills bacteria, viruses and mold spores in the air,” he said.
Chakra — which is derived from Indian medicine — focuses on seven vertical points along the body that can be unblocked through meditation.
“It is all about balance, making sure everything is flowing properly and energy is going where it needs to,” Moreno said.
